Memory, and The Great Day

What better way to write about memory and revolution! Short gems from Yeats, the first from "The Wild Swans at Coole" and the second from a collection titled "New Poems":

Memory

ONE had a lovely face,
And two or three had charm,
But charm and face were in vain
Because the mountain grass
Cannot but keep the form
Where the mountain hare has lain.

-- William Butler Yeats

The Great Day

Hurrah for revolution and more cannon-shot!
A beggar on horseback lashes a beggar on foot.
Hurrah for revolution and cannon come again!
The beggars have changed places, but the lash goes on.

-- William Butler Yeats
