suicide in the trenches
ive been reading a few of the war poets. i wanted to share this one by siegfried sassoon:I knew a simple soldier boy
Who grinned at life in empty joy,
Slept soundly through the lonesome dark,
And whistled early with the lark.
In winter trenches, cowed and glum,
With crumps and lice and lack of rum,
He put a bullet through his brain.
No one spoke of him again.
You smug-faced crowds with kindling eye
Who cheer when soldier lads march by,
Sneak home and pray you'll never know
The hell where youth and laughter go.

That was really good. Sassoon and Owen, are the best war poets I have read. Its been a long time since some Owen got in here. Will try...
chesse is good in this case but i cant see it getting an advantage over bill's poem ' the monkey cupper' in addition i dont think its relevent to eat turkey waffers whilst in orbit around sesseme steet. fair fair the bob! bob! said as he walked over towards the tree care center after the cows had delt with the over crowding down at betty's lama servicing
